How we use your information.

Who we are

RMP Electrical is an electrical contractor based in Uxbridge, Greater London, serving London, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire & Oxfordshire. For any privacy questions, contact us on 07376 203073 or hello@rmp-electrical.co.uk.

We are the data controller for any personal information you give us. We comply with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What we collect

When you submit the enquiry form on this site, we collect:

• A short description of the job you need doing
• Your postcode (so we know whether you're in our service area)
• Your phone number (so we can call you back with a quote)
• Your email address, if you choose to give one. It's optional, and the form works without it.
• Which page of this site you were on when you sent the form, so we know which pages are useful

We don't ask for your name, payment details, or any other identifying information at the enquiry stage. We don't record your IP address with your enquiry.

Why we use it

We use the information solely to respond to your enquiry: to ring or message you back about the job, and to arrange a visit where one is needed. Our lawful basis is Article 6(1)(b) of the UK GDPR, processing necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract. In plain terms: you asked us for a price, and we need your details to give you one. We don't rely on consent for this, because consent has to be something you can withdraw, and an enquiry can't be un-sent. If you'd rather we didn't keep your details, ask us and we'll delete them.

How we send it

When you submit the form, the details are sent as an SMS text message to our phone via Twilio (a US-based communications provider, certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework). As a backup, the same details are also emailed to us using Resend (an EU-region email delivery service). The message contains only the details you entered above.

The form also uses Cloudflare Turnstile to block spam bots. Cloudflare receives your IP address and basic browser signals to verify you are human. No personal data from the form fields is shared with Cloudflare.

How we store it

We don't keep a copy of your enquiry in any website database. The details reach us as a text message on our phone and as an email in our inbox, and that is where they stay.

On our phone, in our inbox and on our devices, we keep your details only as long as needed to complete the job and to meet UK accounting and tax-record requirements, which is six years for work we invoiced. Enquiries that don't turn into work are deleted within 12 months of the last contact.

How long we keep it

SMS records are retained by Twilio for a short period as part of their standard message logs. Email records are retained by Resend for a similar period.

WhatsApp

If you choose to contact us via the WhatsApp button, a pre-filled message containing your job description and postcode is passed to WhatsApp (operated by Meta Platforms). Meta's privacy policy applies to that conversation. We treat the details you send as we would any other enquiry.

Who else sees it

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with marketers. We do not

• send marketing emails or texts
• add you to any mailing list
• pass your details to third-party tradespeople

The site is hosted on Vercel and uses Vercel Analytics + Speed Insights, both of which are cookie-free and do not identify individual visitors.

Google Analytics

With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 (via Google Tag Manager) to understand how visitors use the site: which pages are viewed, how you arrived here, and which buttons or links you interact with (for example, a phone-number click or a quote-form submission). This is aggregate usage data, not the enquiry details described above.

• Google Analytics only runs after you accept analytics cookies in our cookie banner - if you decline, it does not load.
• Google sets cookies to distinguish you from other visitors and to remember your session.
• Data is processed by Google Ireland Limited and may be transferred to Google LLC in the US under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

We do not use Google Analytics for advertising or ad personalisation - only site-usage analytics. Lawful basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time (see "Manage cookies" below).

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• ask what data we hold about you
• ask us to correct or delete it
• ask us to stop using your details and delete them
• withdraw your consent to analytics cookies at any time, using 'Manage cookies' in the footer
• complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk)

To exercise any of these, contact us on the phone number or email above. We'll respond within 30 days.

Changes

If we change this notice, we'll update the date at the top of the page. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage.

Email and messaging providers

Getting your enquiry to us means it passes through a few services. None of them is used for marketing, and none of them adds you to a list.

• Twilio sends the SMS to our phone, and the confirmation text to you.
• Resend delivers the email copy of your enquiry to our inbox.
• Loops sends you the confirmation email saying we have got your enquiry. It receives your email address and the job details that go in that message.
• Brevo is the older provider Loops replaced. It is still in the code as a fallback and is used only if Loops is unavailable.

All four act on our instructions. Lawful basis: legitimate interests, in answering the enquiry you sent us.

Error reporting

The site includes Sentry, error-reporting software that alerts us when a page breaks. It runs in your browser as soon as the page loads and keeps a short rolling record of your visit in memory. If a fault report is sent, it includes your IP address, the page you were on, and technical details of the fault, plus a short recording of on-page activity leading up to it. Details you entered into the enquiry form are stripped out first and never included. If nothing goes wrong during your visit, nothing is sent, and the in-memory record is discarded when you close the tab. Sentry processes this data in the EU. The one item it leaves in your session storage either way is listed in our cookie policy.

Cookies and storage

Our cookie policy lists everything this site stores on your device, including the two items set before you answer the banner. Neither identifies you.
